It’s fair to say that Troyes aren’t fans of their Manchester City owners, but are hoping for one act of goodwill.
City Group have been hammered by the French side for their relegation to the third tier, and also the use of winger Savio, who never played a minute for the Troyes club he signed for before heading to Manchester.
However, there could be about to be one huge reprieve for Troyes, with Girondins Bordeaux’s administration and relegation to the fifth tier opening up a spot back in Ligue 2, which by the table’s standings, should go to Troyes.
Despite that potential boost, fans are already concerned that season ticket prices will again rise, having dropped in accordance with their relegation.
Sending a plea to their owners, the Magic Troyes 1997 ultra group put out a statement saying: “We don’t deserve to be promoted.
“City Group is leaving itself the option of changing the season ticket prices to a Ligue 2 price that will be higher than the current price.
“On behalf of all ESTAC fans (yes, there are still some left), we expressly ask the club to leave the prices unchanged if the reintegration into Ligue 2 takes place.
“This gesture would represent, for once, a mark of respect towards its most loyal supporters, but also a form of thanks for all the purges that the supporters have been able to witness.”
