Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has surprisingly criticised the club’s fans.
The Champions League-winning coach risked the wrath of his own fans who voiced their displeasure with the club’s proposed signing of Jerome Boateng.
Boateng trained with the club amid a defensive injury crisis, but eventually the club didn’t take the option of signing him.
However, during a 3-0 win over Freiburg, fans held a banner which read: “Misogynistic violence is not a private matter!
“Stand for our proclaimed values – or is our charter and awareness campaign just marketing?”
Responding to the words in his post-match press conference, Tuchel said: “This is the first time I’ve heard that.
“I have little understanding for that. This is a hair-trigger insult. A little too anonymous and a little too bold.”
