Sporting CP are set for a new look as soon as July, the club’s vice president has announced.
The Lisbon giants are planning a logo update to be announced as soon as July 1st, which will be their first update since 2001.
Vice-president André Bernardo told Expresso it will be: “A stronger, clearer, and more recognisable brand naturally opens up new revenue opportunities and enhances existing ones.”
He went on to guarantee that it will honour tradition, “namely maintaining a green background, the lion and a shield, as well as the acronym SCP.”
Bernardo also said it will be inspired by older symbols, which looking at the past would be a more prominent SCP, rather than the one that was added to the 2001 design in 2011.

July 1st will also see the presentation of the club’s 120st anniversary shirt, with Sporting undergoing plenty of transformations.
Sporting have gone from strength-to-strength under president Frederico Varandas, winning their first least title since 2002 during the 2020/21 campaign.
They’ve since added a pair more, on top of branding expansion which included a series of kits Sporting CP are set for a new look as soon as July, the club’s vice president has announced..
