Nice coach Claude Puel has rejected the signing of Sergio Ramos, according to reports.
Local outlet francebleu make the claim that Ramos was a possibility as a free agent since leaving Monterrey.
However, Puel turned down the idea, happy with his defensive corps despite a number of injuries.
That makes little sense though, given that Nice have the second worst defensive record in Ligue 1 with 35 goals conceded in 18 games.
The report suggests Ramos is certainly not yet retired, although he does have other things keeping him busy, including the purchase of former club Sevilla.
The local lad made headlines with an offer for his first-ever side, and reports claim it stands at €400million.
Not only has his move with a number of investors jumped to the top of the list, it’s also reportedly been warmly welcomed by shareholders.
Ramos, though, isn’t been complacent, with AS claiming he’s now scheduled several meetings with the club’s major shareholders to get a deal done as soon as possible.
