PSG’s Ligue 1 season got off to an underwhelming start in a rescheduled draw away at Rennes.
The champions were meant to be opening their season at home but had to play away as their pitch failed a safety check due to the numerous heatwaves.
The match ended 2-2 with the high point being Ferran Torres’ two goals.
However, Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele invertedly stole the headlines when he was taken off at half-time for Torres.
PSG were 2-0 down at the time and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also saw his match ended in humiliated fashion.
Luis Enrique was asked about Dembele in particular post-match, and sent a message to the man who is usually their standard-setter.

“That’s football. Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t won anything, nothing,” he said, forgetting the UEFA Super Cup.
“If you think about what you’ve won, you’re not going to win anything!
“The most important thing for me is that there’s no room for complacency: you have to show every day, in every training session, in every match that you’re ready.
“Otherwise, it’s easy to rest… No! We’re always looking to win, and to do that, you have to step out of your comfort zone. Is that clear?”
The message was a clear warning to two of his best players, but he at least reserved some praise for Torres.
Luis Enrique’s special praise for Torres
“He wasn’t bad, was he?” the Spaniard said about his new signing, before firing another remark at the players he took off.
He continued: “I’m happy with everyone who came on in a very difficult match, because we had a lot of trouble controlling Rennes in the first half.
“They were good on the counter-attack and scored two wonderful goals.
“It was tough, but it’s important for me to see that so many players are ready.
“We’re always looking to find the best players for every match. It’s harder than last year, and that’s our ambition.
“I think we had a very good transfer window, and we’re still open to different possibilities.
“Everyone knows how difficult it is for a team to always win. And it’s clear that we still need to improve.”
