PSG have won their first domestic match of the season, 1-0 against Brest.
Having failed to win in their previous four in Ligue 1 and the super cup, PSG overcame their rivals on Sunday night, but Luis Enrique wasn’t best pleased.
“That was my worst match. In my life, I think,” he said.
“I was more satisfied with the first three matches we didn’t win (2-2 in Rennes and Lille, 1-2 against Monaco). Today, we made a lot of mistakes.
“It’s always difficult to play in Brest. They’re a team that doesn’t need to combine much to create chances. “
“We defended very well, but we made mistakes, and when you make such clear mistakes, you don’t usually win.
“It’s incredible that we didn’t concede a goal . We won, but it’s the day I’m most annoyed or frustrated.”
Before the win PSG had matched their worst Ligue 1 start in 19 years, following two draws with defeat to Monaco.
However, the coach had already made his point.
“I’m happy with what I saw,” Luis Enrique said. “It’s the start of the season. We’re not at our best yet.
“But I saw a lot of positive things. For me, it’s clear we deserved the win. The odds were in our favour.
“But that’s football, it’s a wonderful sport. How can I explain it? Football is sometimes inexplicable.
“I would like to emphasize the players’ mentality. It will be an exciting championship. We have to prepare for the future.”
