Girona’s Cristian Portugues (Portu) has released a statement after a high-profile red card challenege from Real Madrid’s Nacho.
The tackle, which came late in a 3-0 win for Los Blancos in Montilivi shocked audiences and saw Nacho immediately sent off.
Portu recieved on-pitch care, and was eventually taken off the field in a stretcher before leaving the stadium in an ambulance.
Thankfully, things aren’t as bad as they first seemed.
Taking to social media, Portu wrote: “Thank you very much for all the love you gave me yesterday, both at the stadium and your messages afterwards.
“I feel good and eager to help the team.
“We have a very nice season ahead of us. Come on!”
