With Borussia Dortmund in complete chaos, Nuri Sahin has made a small attempt to shift the blame.
The Bundesliga giants dropped to 10th in the Bundesliga with back-to-back defeats, the latest a 4-2 humiliation against newly-promoted Holstein Kiel.
BVB have been decent at home but disastrous away, and with their next two games on the road this could be the end for Sahin.
Things don’t get any easier with high-flying Eintracht Frankfurt up next, and Sahin is looking for more leadership.
“I want to see the leading players take control,” said Sahin. “I also expect plain speaking on the pitch.”
Sahin was referring to his captains Emre Can (1st), Julian Brandt (vice) and Nico Schlotterbeck (3rd), but he went after one of them in particular.
“It’s clear that Jule [Brandt] is one of these [leading players], I also had a conversation with him,” he added.
“Jule is aware of the situation, wants to get involved and was very self-critical after the game in Kiel,”
