Miron Muslic has been so good at Schalke that fans are already worried about losing him.
The former Plymouth boss has the German giants second in the Bundesliga 2 and has created a rock solid defence out of one that’s been leaky for years.
Plymouth fans saw Muslic depart despite having a lengthy contract, and Schalke fans are starting to fear the same, despite having a deal until 2027.
Commenting on the matter, he said: “I take that quite calmly.
“People who are now saying, ‘Miron is great,’ were saying four months ago, ‘Who is this guy? Where did they get him from?’ That didn’t faze me.
“I remained clear-headed—with myself and with the task at hand. That doesn’t faze me now, four months later. I’m still clear-headed and fully focused on the task at hand. My task is Schalke 04.
“We were very cautious in our statements and promises. What we promise ourselves internally is: a culture of high performance, shifting up two gears, performing as a team, giving everything for the Royal Blues.
“We’re keeping that and will follow through – with minor ups and downs – week after week. We want to remain down-to-earth in our statements to the media.
“I said after the Hannover game that we want to be bold in our appearance and play – but not in our slogans and objectives. We don’t talk too much about the future; we prepare for it.”
