Massimiliano Allegri has left Juventus with immediate effect following a 1-0 Coppa Italia final win over Atalanta on Wednesday.
The 56-year-old leaves a winner, but in unceremonious circumstances having performed an almighty tirade after the victory.
Allegri was seen throwing his jacket and tie on the ground in fury before clapping the referee who sent him off.
The Italian’s contract ran until 2025, but Juventus have called time early with multiple reports claiming they have an agreement in place with Bologna’s Thiago Motta for next season.
Confirming the departure, Juventus wrote in a statement: “Juventus announces that it has relieved Massimiliano Allegri of his role as coach of the men’s first team.
“The dismissal follows certain behaviours during and after the Italian Cup final which the club deemed incompatible with the values of Juventus and with the behaviour that those who represent it must adopt.
“A period of collaboration ends, which began in 2014, restarted in 2021 and ended after the last 3 seasons together with the Italian Cup Final.
“The company wishes Massimiliano Allegri good luck in his future projects.”
Responding to his red card on Wednesday, Allergi told the media: “My bloodbath? It’s something normal in a final, in a match with so much at stake,” he has since been banned for two games by the Italian FA.
His anger didn’t stop there though, with Tuttosport claiming that he went after their editor Guido Vaciago in the tunnel post-match.
The outlet quotes him as saying: “You’re a shitty editor! Yes, a shitty editor! Write the truth in your newspaper, not what the club tells you! Stop being the club’s sidekick!”
