Now flying at Roma after spending his early days on the bench, Mats Hummels most glorious moment in Italy ended with some embarrassment.
The Borussia Dortmund legend has found his feet under Claudio Ranieri after being overlooked by Ivan Juric.
After some decent performances but no results under Ranieri, the wins are now coming for Roma, and their biggest yet was in the Rome derby, 2-0 over Lazio thanks to Lorenzo Pellegrini and Alexis Saelemaekers.
With Lazio looking like early season title contenders, the win was certainly a big one for Roma, who showed how much it meant in the closing stages.
With Lazio trying to counterattack late on, a ball was thrown onto the pitch from the Roma bench, and then Hummels stopped the move by taking down Valentín Castellanos on the halfway line.
Both players were on the floor, and Castellanos seemed to say something to irritate the German who jumped up and started shoving him.
However, when Castellanos fought back, Hummels flopped on the floor clutching his face.
Yet his job was done, as the Argentine was red-carded and the three points and a clean sheet were secured.
