Manuel Neuer had no time to discuss the future after Bayern Munich‘s latest win.
The legendary goalkeeper was key in a 2-1 victory over Leipzig, brilliantly stopping Benjamin Šeško in a key one-on-one.
Post-match he was asked what’s gone wrong this season, with manager Thomas Tuchel stepping down in the summer after a terrible campaign.
“It casts a bad image on all of us, on the team, on the players,” he said.
“We didn’t manage to deal with it like that to continue with a top coach. It’s not always the teacher’s fault if grades are bad.
“We have a responsibility when a good coach is dismissed. We now want to continue the path professionally to the end.
“Everyone has to have a bad conscience. This doesn’t include the coaching team alone, but us too. That’s why you always have to look after yourself.”
Neuer was then asked about Xabi Alonso taking over Bayern, with his former teammate flying with Bayer Leverkusen.
“Are you alright?” he said, trying to get away, before walking off from the interview.
