Luis Enrique has been keen to take on the media during his first year at PSG, but rarely has he got annoyed so quickly.
The Spaniard is on course for a treble in France with Ligue 1 and the Trophée des Champions already secured.
However, the Holy Grail of the Champions League has again gone begging after a 2-0 semi-final exit to Borussia Dortmund.
Ahead of a Ligue 1 clash with Toulouse, Luis Enrique discussed the defeat with the media, but was furious when he heard the loss described as a ‘failure’.
“I guess the question was translated well because the translator is a crack [great guy],” he began.
“Was the word failure mentioned? I’ll try to be polite: how many teams are there in the Champions League? I’m asking you.
“You don’t know how many? Maybe the failure is not having studied how many teams there were.”
The one-time Champions League winner stopped himself and then said: “Let’s move on to the next question and we will avoid a problem.”
Discussing the exit during another exchange, he said: “We had high hopes for a potential Champions League final.
“We are suffering from these two matches, we think that it does not reflect our merits. We are already looking forward to the party tomorrow but it was a hard blow for everyone.
“In the end, there remains this feeling that we gave 100% even if the result was not up to par. We are moving on.”
