Freiburg’s Christian Streich has revealed his management career could be coming to an end.
The 58-year-old has only ever coached the German side, and has done so for the last 12 years.
A cult hero and muched loved figure in the Bundesliga, Streich candidly opened up on his future after beating Bochum 2-1.
“I feel like I’m getting older,” he said. “The strength is dwindling, it is now foreseeable.
“I find myself thinking more and more often: How much energy do I have left?
“And when I realise that there is no longer enough and that someone younger is needed to get do my job, I’ll stop trying to get to players.”
Asked if he could manage another team, he replied: “That’s no longer an option for me.”
