Lucas Chevalier’s social media activity has now reached the French national team and captain Kylian Mbappe.
The PSG goalkeeper took some unwanted headlines ahead of a 3-2 win over Lyon where he was extremely suspect, continuing an unimpressive start since his summer move from Lille.
Chevalier had liked a post from politician Julien Aubert saying he would rather vote for the far-right National Rally than the New Popular Front.
In four separate Instagram stories, Chevalier said the like was an ‘accident’ adding: “It’s certain that anyone who knows me knows very well how much my parents and family instilled in me values and respect, and that I would never allow myself to think such things.”
However, not everyone has bought his excuse, and the subject was unsurprisingly brought up during France’s rounds of press conferences, with captain Mbappe outspoken on politics.
“I didn’t see it, I didn’t know, so I didn’t talk to him about it,” the Real Madrid megastar responded
“But I can talk to him about it later, no problem.”
