A Real Madrid legend as a player, coach and director, Jorge Valdano may not be getting invited back by Florentino Perez any time soon.
Valdano has been very vocal about Perez’s management since the turn of the year and has already strongly criticised the dismissal of Xabi Alonso and hiring of Alvaro Arbeloa.
Now he’s turning to Vinicius Jr, saying he’s received far too much support from Perez, having allegedly been key in Alonso’s firing.
“It’s impossible to have more support than Vinicius has had,” he said on Movistar.
“From the president and now from the new coach. It’s impossible.
“Everything Florentino has done for Vinicius is unprecedented in the history of football.
“Taking an entire team off a bus and not attending the Ballon d’Or gala because he wasn’t awarded it, seems to me to be a sign not just of affection, but of the club’s dedication to the player.”
