Sergio Ramos was denied a remarkable return to Real Madrid by Florentino Perez.
That’s according to El Chirunguito, who claim that general director José Ángel Sánchez was also against the return of the 38-year-old club legend.
Ramos has been without a team since leaving Sevilla in June, and is an icon at Madrid, a former captain and one of their greatest ever players.
However, a return to the Bernabeu is off the cards, even in a time of need.
Madrid recently lost Eder Militao to another ACL tear and he joins an extensive defensive injury list.
Dani Carvajal is out for the season with the same ailment, while David Alaba still hasn’t returned from his, leading to concerns that he may have to retire.
Elsewhere, Aurelien Tchouameni, who regularly fills in at the back, is also injured, as well as out of form.
In the Osasuna match where Militao went out injured, youngster Raúl Asencio came in and impressed.
Yet it looks like Madrid will still seek a January reinforcement, with Al Nassr’s Aymeric Laporte a reccurring target.
