Atletico Madrid fans will be reeling after the latest comments from Diego Simeone.
The club legend and longest-serving manager in Europe sat down for a lengthy interview with ESPN, which included discussions about Real Madrid.
The rivals face each other again on February 4, their third meeting in a month after Real won in the Super Cup and Atleti were victorious in the Copa del Rey.
Their next clash is in LaLiga, presenting Atleti fans with a huge chance to see their team stop their rivals from winning the title.
However, before the meeting, the most unlikely source has given Real supporters plenty of ammunition.
Asked about Real’s president Florentino Perez, Simeone said: “Madrid has resources, they have tools, they have a very strong president like Florentino.
“He manages a club that is surely one of the best in the world or the best in the world, in an extraordinary way.
“I admire how he manages and how he generates new ideas. Continues demanding that the footballers who are in Madrid compete.
“Ramos leaves, Ronaldo leaves, Benzema leaves, Casillas leaves and the club continues. Why? Because they manage it and manage it in an exemplary way.”
Adding on Carlo Ancelotti, he said: “He is an extraordinary coach, he manages the group very well, he manages the players very well. It is a team that always wins.”
