Daniele De Rossi made it 29 points in 13 Serie A games in the shortest match of the season.
The Roma club legend matched the record of his predecessor Jose Mourinho who recorded 29 points in 20 games this season before being sacked.
De Rossi did so with a victory over Udinese in a match that lasted just 19 minutes.
The match had previously been suspended after Evan Ndicka was stretchered off the pitch with chest pains with the score at 1-1.
On its resumption, the match was won by Bryan Cristante in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
The result further strengthens Roma’s grip on fifth place, which looks almost certain to earn Champions League football next season thanks to the two new European Performance Spots.
The match was also unique as it saw 2006 Ballon d’Or winner Fabio Cannavaro on the touchline of a Serie A match for the first time.
The Italy legend has been parachuted in to try and help Udinese avoid relegation, but saw a point snatched away by his former World Cup-winning teammate in the dying moments of the match.
There were also heartwarming scenes at full-time as the Roma squad went to the Udinese end to thank the home fans for their support and reaction to Ndicka’s concerning injury. The defender has now been cleared to return to action.
