Dutch youngster Dean Huijsen scored his first goal for Roma, and then didn’t appear after half-time.
The 18-year-old broke his duck against Frosinone in a 3-0 win, scoring the only goal of the first half.
What came next would have left traditionalists a little annoyed, with Huijsen pulling out Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘SIUUU’ celebration, before strangely shushing the home crowd.
Huijsen received a yellow card for his antics, but presumptions that he was injured at half-time were ended by De Rossi.
“He will learn from this, he is still very young,” the new coach said. “I don’t want to lecture him here.
“Next time he won’t do this again; players learn and grow through experience.
“He knows that because he celebrated this way he could not start the second half, because he had received a yellow card.”
Frosinone’s coach, Eusebio Di Francesco, was not happy with Huijsen, he added: “A boy who was coming to us celebrates a goal against us in this way. That is not nice.
“He could be my son, so I don’t want to make this too big, but he needs to learn that you don’t do this.
“In January he called me to find out what I thought of him, but tonight I thought he was disrespectful.”
