Dani Carvajal’s time on Real Madrid’s bench is really starting to get to him.
The Madrid captain returned from surgery on a long-term issue mid-January and has only played 124 minutes since.
His comeback from three months on the sidelines was in a humiliating 3-2 loss to second tier Albacete in the Copa del Rey, and with it being Alvaro Arbeloa’s first game, he hasn’t exactly forgiven him.
Carvajal’s bench activity has drawn attention, particularly apparent complaints to fitness coach Antonio Pintus.
The 34-year-old was given his first start of 2026 last week, but had to be withdrawn with Osasuna’s Víctor Muñoz running rings round him in a surprise win.
Since then Carvajal has taken out his frustration on an unfamiliar source.
Mundo Deportivo report that he collided with youngster Víctor Valdepeñas in training during the week and the challenge was so heavy that the Castilla player will be out for a month with a knee injury.
There was no regret either, with Carvajal not apologising, perhaps more worried about his spot at the World Cup with Spain…
