There was plenty of doubt over Raphael Varane’s move to Serie A side Como, and now those fears have been confirmed.
The French defender joined on a free transfer from Manchester United in a window where Cesc Fabregas’ side signed a number of older players like Pepe Reina.
Varane struggled massively with injuries at Old Trafford, and at Como, nothing has changed, with the defender picking up a knee injury in his Coppa Italia debut after just 23 minutes.
Como have since excluded the defender from their 25-man Serie A squad and Sport Mediaset are now reporting that his contract may well be terminated.
