Carlo Ancelotti hasn’t ruled out Neymar returning to his Brazil squad for the 2026 World Cup.
The legendary former Real Madrid coach has so far opted against selecting the nation‘s all-time top scorer citing injuries and fitness.
Neymar is having further problems with his club side Santos playing poorly, but Ancelotti is keeping the door ajar for a return.
“He’s on the list of players who could go to the World Cup,” the Italian said.
“Now he has six months to make the final list. We’ll observe him, as we do others, and try to put together the best possible final squad.
“He’s recovered from his injury and now he has six months to recover his fitness.
“When the league in Brazil finishes, he’ll have a vacation, and then he’ll be able to show his quality and his physical condition when the league starts again.”
