Meeting up with Lionel Messi in Miami may not have been the best idea for the Argentine national team.
The reigning South American and World champions travelled to Inter Miami’s training complex ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Venezuela and Bolivia.
Meeting Messi in his current MLS home, it appears the Albiceleste have got themselves in a spot of bother with Hurricane Milton about to strike.
The team are meant to face Venezuela away at the Estadio Monumental de Maturín, but that plan has been put in jeopardy.
Coach Lionel Scaloni updated the press on their situation, with travel plans now delayed until the morning of the match on October 10, when the hurricane could be at its worst.
“We had asked to travel today, but they did not authorise us,” he said. “We are theoretically going to travel tomorrow, if the weather permits.
“We have no more news than that. We hope to train in the morning and then leave. We were unlucky with this.”
Lets just hope Messi has space in his bunker for all of his teammates.
