The ramifications from Dani Carvajal’s horrific triple knee feature continue, and Andriy Lunin isn’t coming out in the best light.
The Ukrainian was in for no.1 Thibaut Courtois during Real Madrid‘s 2-0 win over Villarreal, and may have made a mistake which played a big part in Carvajal’s injury.
Replays from the incident appear to show Carvajal signalling to Lunin to play the ball long upfield, only for him to play it short to the right back.
Then, forced into a spot of bother, Carvajal needed to clear the ball, resulting in him booting Yeremy Pino and destroying his knee.
In the aftermath, Fede Valverde, Antonio Rudiger and Rodrygo were all seen reprimanding the goalkeeper for his error, and Lunin, clearly realising his mistake, put his hands on his knees and looked crestfallen.
