From president of the Jude Bellingham fan club to questioning his place in the team, AS editor Tomas Roncero has caused some big headlines.
One of the key voices in Spain due to his prominence as a Real Madrid pundit and fan, Roncero adored Bellingham in his first season, comparing him to club greats such as Zinedine Zidane.
However, as time has passed concern has grown around Bellingham, so much so that even Roncero has admitted Real may be better without him.
Asked if Los Blancos are better without the Englishman in the starting line-up, he said: “I want to cling to the theory that he’s so good, it’s hard to believe… the doubt is that his performance has dropped this season.
“We have to get Bellingham back to his best; we can’t assume that Real Madrid plays better without him because that would be wasting a world-class talent.”
Jude Bellingham’s biggest problem
Roncero then went on to explain Bellingham’s biggest problem, Arda Guler, who is occupying his role as the team’s main attacking midfielder.
“Bellingham and Güler are like oil and water and they clash,” he added.
“When they’re on the pitch, they seem to get in each other’s way and they’re incompatible. I hope Bellingham comes back and feels Güler’s presence.”
