Ukraine’s squad were robbed of items and money while training in Benidorm before their World Cup qualifying defeat to Sweden.
Ukraine are now out of the 2026 tournament due to the 3-1 loss, but understandably so given new reports.
According to Sport.ua , the robbery took place while the team were away from their rooms.
The culprits took money and valuables, including watches valued at thousands of euros.
Ukrainian journalist Igor Burbas reported: “When the team was carrying out its first training cycle, before the trip to Valencia, they were robbed.
“It happened at the hotel, when the team was not in their rooms.
“Strangers entered and robbed the players and the coaching staff.
“They took money and expensive items, watches worth thousands of euros. Alberto Bosch, Serhiy Rebrov’s assistant, for example, lost 1,800 euros.
“What state of mind can the team have after this?”
