Spain are recovering well from their bruising battle with Uruguay.
The European champions knocked Marcelo Bielsa’s side out with a 1-0 group stage win, booking their spot in the last 32 against Austria.
There was collateral damage as Uruguay lashed out with some horror challenges, injuring Nico Williams and Yeremy Pino.
Yet despite fears both would be out of the rest of the World Cup, the pair were both present in training.
While they didn’t do any ball work, they both uses exercise bikes, suggesting their tournaments are far from over, should Spain progress.
There is still a chance Williams may not feature, while Pino has been diagnosed with a sprain rather than a fracture, so could play with a pain-killing injection.
Victor Munoz injury update
And while Williams may be out, there was some positive news up front.
New Liverpool winger Victor Munoz returned to full training having not yet featured at the tournament.
The former Osasuna star arrived in the Americas injured and then suffered a relapse.
Now reports claim he’ll be available to Luis de la Fuente from the last 16 onwards, should Spain make it.
In a further positive update, Aymeric Laporte was in full training after a knock against Uruguay.
All signs point to him starting against Austria despite fears he may miss a game or two.
