There will be some raised eyebrows in Santos and Porto after Carlo Ancelotti dealt out special praise.
The five-time Champions League winner is the subject of much focus ahead of naming his final friendly squad before the 2026 World Cup.
Ancelotti has lost starter Rodrygo to long-term injury and current speculation suggests Neymar could well be his replacement.
On top of that, Thiago Silva remains intent on making his way back into the squad, returning to Europe with FC Porto to get more attention.
So when Ancelotti was asked to name his dream all-time Brazil squad by Marca, both players would have been hoping for an inclusion in a moment of foreshadowing towards the summer.
Yet it turns out Silva will be the only one encouraged.
“In goal I could put Dida,” he began, refering back to his time at AC Milan.
“Cafu on the right, Militão or Thiago Silva as center-backs and Marcelo on the left.
“In the middle Casemiro, Kaká… I’m sure I’m forgetting someone.
“On the right Rodrygo, or wherever he wants, on the left Vinícius and up front I have many doubts: Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho… there are too many.”
Too many, but not enough for Neymar to get a namecheck…
