A planned meeting between Feyenoord executives on Monday quickly turned into a debate about sacking Robin van Persie.
The Rotterdam side drew against second-bottom NAC at the weekend in another terrible display after being comprehensively beaten by Twente in the previous match.
Van Persie has also come under question for his signing of Raheem Sterling, who appears to be unfit and receiving preferential treatment with less than 10 Eredivisie games left to play.
According to AD, the outcome of the crisis meeting at De Kuip is that Van Persie will stay, for now.
Feyenoord remain second in the Eredivisie, automatically qualifying them for the Champions League next season.
With Ajax out of the picture, NEC and Twente are closing in on second with the former three points back and the latter five.
However, it was argued that Feyenoord’s relatively easy schedule and a lack of replacements kept Van Persie in a job.
Feyenoord fans won’t be happy
The Premier League great was savaged by his own supporters during the 3-3 draw against NAC at the weekend with chants of ‘Robin get lost’ before, during and after the match.
Speaking post-match, Van Persie said: “I’ve heard it. It’s not exactly fun.
“Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Supporters choose for themselves how they support their club. It’s their right to do so in their own way.”
