Davide Frattesi’s extra time winner against Barcelona will go down in history, and he celebrated appropriately.
The midfielder decided arguably the greatest ever Champions League semi-final with his strike for Inter making it 4-3 on the night and 7-6 on aggregate.
After he went wild, jumping up on San Siro’s fences, screaming his head off.
However, he’s now revealed he was close to stopping.
“I shouted so much after the goal that my head was spinning and everything went black,” he said.
“I was lucky to finish the match because my head was spinning.
“After Munich (he scored at the end of the quarter-final first leg), I didn’t think I would be able to relive such emotion, but it happened again. That’s the beauty of football.”
He added: “It’s part of my career, I may not have incredible talent, but I’m always the last to give up.
“My dedication was rewarded. At 3-3, I kept telling Marcus [Thuram]: ‘We’ll go through.’ It was an incredible match.”
