We’ve found someone who loves Cristiano Ronaldo just as much as Roberto Martinez does.
The second round of the Saudi Pro League took place at the weekend and Ronaldo’s champions Al Nassr beat Al Riyadh 4-0 away from home.
At the same time Al Hazem lost 1-0 to Al Diriyah.
The game saw a number of flashpoints, including one hilarious moment in the stands.
Ronaldo’s old teammate can’t resist Al Nassr match
In the 70th minute the cameras caught Diriyah’s back-up goalkeeper Waleed Abdullah on his phone in the stands.
That was a bad enough look, but then the camera quickly switched to a shot behind him showing he was watching the Nassr match.
Abdullah played for Nassr from 2017 to 2024, with the last two years alongside Ronaldo. He’s also from Riyadh where Nassr play.
When the camera caught the image, Abdullah quickly closed his streaming app on his phone in a panic.
While Nassr’s match had more goals, Diriyah’s also had some moments to keep watching.
In stoppage time at the end of the match, former Benfica and Wolves coach Bruno Lage was giving instructions and accidentally blocked a throw-in for the opposition.
Despite it appearing to be an accident, he was sent off.
Diriyah were only promoted to the Pro League this season via the second tier play-offs.
Lage was a huge addition in the dugout while he’s added even more to the squad.
Darwin Nunez has just joined on loan from Al Hilal who have reportedly agreed to pay all of his wages.
Enzo Miliot has also arrived on loan from Al Ahli, despite being one of the Bundesliga’s top prospects two seasons ago with Stuttgart and France’s under-age groups.
