Raphinha’s comments on the Dani Olmo case shocked everyone, not least Joan Laporta.
The Barcelona captain surprised the media when he suggested that the club’s failures to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor would put him off signing.
“If I were at another club and saw the situation of Pau and Dani, perhaps I would think about whether it would be best to be here,” he said in Saudi Arabia at the Spanish Super Cup.
“When I came, before signing, I knew the situation of the club and the truth is that I waited until the last moment and I don’t regret anything.”
The comments quickly made headline news, and Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez has since referenced them, hoping that the rules aren’t bent by LaLiga for Barca.
Yet the one who was hurt the most by them was clearly Laporta, who has faced intense criticism over the club’s current financial shambles.
And after a training session, he made it clear to go to Raphinha and talk to him in front of the cameras…
