With German football on pause until January 12, Borussia Dortmund‘s players will be wise to go easy on the turkey.
Out-of-favour right back Thomas Meunier has revealed a strict policy takes place in North Rhine-Westphalia to make sure no one enjoys their time off too much.
Speaking to French outlet RTBF, he said: A fine of 1,000 euros will be imposed for every kilo you gain.
“If you are a better player, it will even be 1000 euros per hundred grams. I’m not going to mention a name, but there is a player who had to pay a 10,000 euro fine.
“He was given the opportunity to reduce the fine if he lost the weight again. He also managed that.”
