Fenerbahce coach Jose Mourinho isn’t shy of making bold comments, but isn’t so keen on someone doing them on his behalf.
However, that was the case as his club’s vice president talked up Fenerbahce‘s chances of reaching the Champions League.
Fener travel to Portugal to face Mourinho‘s old side Benfica after a scoreless first leg in the final play-off before the competition.
Ahead of the task, Fenerbahce vice president Hamdi Akin said his team would ‘easily’ beat Benfica, a comment Mourinho didn’t approve of.
Asked to justify it by the Portuguese press, he said: “Believe it or not, but I don’t know who he is.
“I don’t know this person, nor his influence, let alone his importance in the structure of the club.
“No one has ever introduced him to me.”
