Fenerbahce president Ali Koc has responded to some brutal comments from Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho was sacked by Koc three weeks ago after being knocked out of the Champions League in the final qualifying round by Benfica.
The Portuguese has now spectacularly rocked up in Lisbon at the club that got him fired, and wasn’t too kind about Fener on his unveiling.
Mourinho called the move to Turkey a ‘mistake’ and said he’s now ‘back at his level’ indicating he views Portuguese football the elite and not Turkish.
Koc has now been asked for his response, and said: “Mourinho’s departure was a difficult decision for me. He was like a family member.
“He said coming here was a mistake. I think it ended up being a mistake for both parties.
“He said he arrived at a club of his calibre. Great. I will always remember him fondly. A coach of his calibre is belittling himself when he makes such a statement.”
