Carlo Ancelotti didn’t hold back in his most recent press conference.
The Italian normally cuts a reserved figure when it comes to the media, but it turns out things have got under his skin.
A 3-2 comeback LaLiga win over Almeria saw VAR intervene to overturn three goal decisions, all in favour of Madrid.
It left Almeria outraged, and Barcelona joined in, with Xavi and Inigo Martinez both making suggestions of bias.
Barca president Joan Laporta went further, saying the league is being ‘adulterated’ by pressure from Madrid, and Ancelotti wasn’t having any of it.
“We do not have to deflect the main issue,” he said, referencing the Negreira match-fixing scandal around Barcelona.
“Everyone knows what has happened in the last 23 years in Spanish football, here is the problem.
“The League is not adulterated, Spanish football has had a problem.
“Now the anti-corruption prosecutor’s office and the Civil Guard are carrying out the investigation and now we have to wait. We must not divert the main issue.”
