While Barcelona will continue to rely on their famous La Masia academy, a list of new young transfer targets has emerged.
Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo claims the club are continuing to lean towards signing youth after deals for the lesser-known 18-year-old duo Hamza Abdelkarim and Jesse Bisiwu.
Their five-man list is far better known, but does come with some surprises.
Firstly, Barca are looking towards the Bundesliga where Lennart Karl of Bayern Munich and Ibrahim Maza of Bayer Leverkusen have stood out as two of the league’s best young talents.
Attacking midfielder Karl has had to leave Germany’s World Cup camp injured and has previously called Real Madrid his dream club, but Barca are fans.
Maza instead would be more gettable and has shone box-to-box for Leverkusen and is expected to announce himself further at the World Cup with Algeria.
Another attacking midfielder, Rodrigo Mora, has long been one of Europe’s premier young talents at FC Porto and could similarly be attainable.
Kees Smit of AZ Alkmaar is also likely on the move this summer and has talked up wanting to move to Spain.
Yet having just signed up with Jorge Mendes as his agent, a deal for the Dutch midfielder could end up with plenty of paperwork.
Finally, and perhaps most surprisingly, is Lewis Miley of Newcastle.
The lofty midfielder has proved to be versatile across midfield, and again could be an affordable option as Barca look to bolster their options ahead of the 2026/27 season.
