Real Madrid fans made their feelings clear to each and every player upon their return to the Bernabeu.
Since their last home game on January 4th, Madrid lost the Supercopa final to Barcelona, sacked Xabi Alonso, brought up Alvaro Arbeloa and were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by second tier Albacete.
Given such a poor run, boos were expected at the Bernabeu before a 2-0 win over Levante, but for who was only made clear when the starting line-up was read out pre-match.
Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham by far got the worst reception, with the pair blamed in the media for orchestrating Alonso’s firing.
The third player accused of the takedown is Fede Valverde, and he Dean Huijsen and Eduardo Camavinga also were booed to a lesser extent.
The only cheers were reserved for Kylian Mbappe and Gonzalo Garcia, while the rest of the squad, and new coach Arbeloa, had an indifferent reception.
Perhaps more notably than all of those figures, president Florentino Perez also received a frosty reception.
White handkerchiefs were out for the first time during his second tenure, and chants of ‘Florentino out!’ were also sung throughout the 2-0 win.
